Yes Another Vampire Movie, But Don't Be So Quick To Write This One Off Yet
Okay, before you dismiss this movie after hearing the word vampire give me two minutes of your time (I'm just estimating how long it will take to read this entry) to understand that this movie may be not what you are expecting. The movie is called "Let Me In" and yes it is about a vampire. Yes, it is about her relationship with a human. But stop your negative groaning right there and listen. This one is about a young vampire named Abby who befriends a young boy named Owen. But this is where the liking to the Twilight series ends. This time there is going to be violence. There is none of this sparkle crap. The girl needs to feed and humans are her prey. Owen soon discovers that Abby is not who she seems, but she is willing to look after her friend whatever the cost, even though it could cost him his own life for him to live forever with her. Staring the scene stealer in both 500 Days Of Summer and Kick Ass (if she was not Mindy I would have turned that movie off) Chloe Moretz and Aussie actor Kodi Smit-McPhee (Romulus, My Father, The Road) and actor veterans Richard Jenkins (Burn After Reading, Step Brothers) and Elias Koteas (Shutter Island, Shooter) this movie has a lot going for it. Directed by Matt Reeves who directed the small budget but big at the box office hit "Cloverfield" we may be in store for something in the vampire universe we might not have seen before (and there better be blood). This is one vampire movie I want to sink my teeth into (pun intended) when it hits Australian theatres 14 October.
