Eastwood. Damon. Paranormal?

I have to admit, I think Clint Eastwood is a brilliant director and I am not just saying that. The man has hit hard on many genres and has brought out the best in his actors as well as the screenplay which he delivers with his vision. Let's see if you don't believe me. There has been Mystic River with an ending quiet horrific. Million Dollar Baby which saw Hilary Swank win her second Oscar and change the whole genre upside down from a sports movie to a full blown drama. Then there was Gran Turino which was brilliant and Changeling with Angelina which I am still haunted by. And these are all in the last few years. The man is unstoppable. Matt Damon can pull off many genres himself, including comedy, action (who can forget the Bourne movies) and drama (Good Will Hunting anyone?) But lately, I feel Matt has dropped the ball a bit. Unless he has been playing Jason Bourne his career really hasn't been that interesting box office wise or critically. Let's look at the evidence. The Informant was boring with a capital B (I couldn't even watch all of it) and Green Zone just seemed like Bourne goes commando. Well why am I talking about these two? In the coming months Matt Damon will be staring in Clint Eastwood's new film "Hereafter." Gaining much praise already the movie is about how death effects the lives of three people including a middle class worker, a french journalist and a school boy who lives in London. This is the first time Eastwood has done such a genre, but I'm sure the man can handle the challenge. Everything he touches turns to cinematic genius lately. This will be the second time Matt Damon has worked with Eastwood as the first time it gave Damon his second Academy Award nomination so the team does work well together. Also starring in the film will by Byrce Dallas Howard, Jay Mohr and Richard Kind. I for one will be checking this out as I am interesting to see Dirty Harry himself prove once again why no one can come close to producing quality cinema like the Eastwood. Hereafter opens later this year.
