Will Tomorrow When The War Began Prove Australia Can Make A Decent Action Movie?

Well it's Thursday so you know what that means? A whole new bunch of movies hit the cinema waiting to be reviewed by Like A Reviewer. This is my favourite day of the week as there is always a huge variety to check out. But tonight I am going to check out "Tomorrow When The War Began" and I must admit I am looking forward to it. I was a bit apprehensive the first time I saw the trailer. I thought, shit, not more stupid soapy actors trying to make a Australian movie that will most likely end up leaving the cinema in less than a week. But there are some that make it through and become classics. Im looking at you Murial, Priscilla, Max and Alibrandi. Something though told me not to judge this movie before I see it. I mean the novels are hugely popular and every teengager has read them (I can't remember if I have or not but I do know that it is a book by John Marsden, so one point to me). So could this be in its favour? I mean Looking for Alibrandi was the same. Everyone knew the story and the movie became a huge hit. But without any star power except for the C List soap actors who are playing the main parts will it be any good and will it appeal to a broader audience then the readers? The trailer sold me to see it, so I think we may have another hit on our hand Australia. Thank goodness, as our film industry sure needs a hit.
