Is it wise to bring back a franchise that hasn't had a sequel in 25 years? I'm talking about Mad Max and the rumour mill is buzzing that there is a fourth one heading our way in 2012. But while Mel (I suggest looking for a new career) Gibson is no longer involved, the original director George Miller is going to be helming the project as well as directing it. But why do we need to see another hero then if Mel is not on board? Wasn't that the whole story that a man whose family is brutally murdered in the future by a gang of crazies hunts them down bringing justice to the people? What are you going to bring to the table this time George? More of the same? Large amounts of violence and crazy stunts in cars? But haven't we seen this before. Nothing yet on the story has been released, only the main cast has been chosen with a huge assortment of talent which makes me believe this sequel may have something going for it. Tom Hardy the English actor who was brilliant in Inception (see it now if you haven't you can thank me later) will take on the title role of Max. Charlize (still underrated even with an Oscar) Theron and Nicholas (About A Boy) Hoult will also star as well as Australia's own Teresa Palmer, Lenny Kravitz daughter Zoe, and Elvie Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough. What is good about George is he has opted not to move production to America, but pump the money into the Australian economy by filming primarily in Australia. Only time will tell if audiences want to see Max (and except another actor playing him) as the saviour in this futuristic battle, or if it's time to hang up your keys Max and let someone else deliver us from evil.
