Are You Ready For Round Four?

For those of you who have been living under a rock in the 90's, Scream was one of the most talked about trilogies in the horror world. Before the introduction of torture horror, Scream was a breath of fresh air not only for it's first 10 minutes (which everyone will remember, poor Drew) but because it had a witty script written by up and comer Kevin Williamson (who also gave us an insight into the world of teenage angst in Dawson Creek), a group of talented actors who gave the material their all, and a icon in horror directing Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street). Although the third one was a bit far fetched (even in the Scream world) and kinda boring, the big guys have decided to bring back the series with its older cast members as well as a bunch of new (prey maybe) victims or heroins. It has been 11 years since the last movie, and all of our favourites are back including Coutney (Cougar Town boring as) Cox, David (I don't think I have had a job since the third one) Arquette, Neve (where have you been girl) Campbell. But this time what might work in the films favour is the hot new cast, the script written by Kevin Williamson and the directing once again by Wes Craven. No information has been given yet about the premise, as it is under lock and key. A few photos have been sighted though with characters covered in blood. It is all very hush hush. All I can tell you is the new cast includes Emma (Julia's niece) Roberts, Hayden Pantierre, Rory Culkin (yes another one) Marley Shelton, Adam Brody, Anna Paquin, Kristen (I am in everything) Bell, Shenae Grimes, and Anthony Anderson. The buzz is though, Sydney is once again being plagued by the killer, but this time he may also be terrorizing her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts). Is Jill going to be the new lead for the franchise's new decade? Will Sydney make it out for the fourth time, or like Jaime Lee Curtis in the Halloween series will she meet her finally match in the man that has haunted and harassed her for years leaving a body count in his wake? Only time will tell. I for one am going to be seeing this when it hits theatres on the 15 May 2011 (Australia). It's time to revist the town of Woodsboro once again. I just might need to hold someone's hand in the cinema though.
