Could This Finally Be James Franco's Breakout Movie?

As in a previous entry, James Franco has to be one of the most underrated actors there is in Hollywood. Not only has the guy tapped into nearly every genre in the movie world, but his screen presence is undeniable captivating. From his stoner persona in Pineapple Express, to his star turn as Sean Penn's boyfriend in Milk, to his action take in Spider-Man no one can deny the guy can't do it. So why has Hollywood not made Franco the big star he is today? Maybe it is him who has steered clear of movies which he might have thought were shallow or he really wanted to be the next Al Pacino or Robert De Niro and not be type cast. But come later this year, Franco could finally get the kudos he deserves as he stars in the new film being critically applauded in 127 Hours. 127 Hours directed by last years Oscar Winner for Best Picture (Slumdog Millionaire) Danny Boyle tells the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston who when climbing in Utah got himself trapped for 5 days in the canyon and needed to actually cut off his own arm in order to survive. I know a bit graphic right, but it is meant to be very well done and the buzz is Franco is deserving the praise from both the movie public and the man he is playing. I mean the guy is onscreen by himself for nearly two hours and is making a movie captivating. Now to me that screams talent. Hand him the damn award silly Oscar voters. If I was part of the committee I would just hand him the award even though I haven't even seen the movie. 127 Hours will be hitting Australian cinemas later in the year.
