Is Betty White Hollywoods New "IT" Girl?

I love this woman. I truly do. She can crack this reviewer up just by the way she delivers her lines in movies or when she is chatting on a talk show. She has the "X" factor and has had it for over 65 years since being in show business. This white haired 88 year old woman is not slowing down at all. But is Betty White at the peak of her career? And is Hollywood just finally noticing now how much the world loves Betty White? Lets look at the evidence. Betty has always been a favourite of mine since the Golden Girls days where she played Rose the air headed one who was from St. Olof (great now the theme song is stuck in my head, "Thank you for being a friend, travel down the road and back again" Dammit). Everytime Rose began her stories I knew I was going to piss myself laughing. But before her role on the Golden Girls, Betty could be seen in the Mary Tyler Moore show where she replaced Rhoda after she left to do her spin off show. The same thing, Betty stole every scene she was in. After the Golden Girls, she popped up in a few things, but never really received the credible movies or another sitcom which she deserved. She even had a stint on the Bold and the Beautiful (no I didn't watch it, okay yes I may have seen it just cause Betty was in it, don't judge). Anyway, that all changed when Betty stole nearly every seen in last years huge box office hit, "The Proposal" This 88 year old held her own against top stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds and the world fell in love with Betty all over again. Now studio's are throwing scrips and parts Betty's way, as everything she touches is turning to gold. Saturday Night Live received its highest ratings when Betty was the guest host. Hot In Cleveland (the new show on channel 9, not really that good but only for Betty I watch it) is a ratings smash in America and her new movie "You again" puts her against some strong talent including Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristen Bell (wow work much lately Kristen) and Kristen Chenoweth (big shout out to Kristen and her performance in Glee, amazing). The movie is about Kristen Bell's character finding out that her brother is going to be marrying the girl who made her life hell in high school. Betty fits in the plot somehow, but trust me she stole the trailer when I saw it. So could it be another hit at the box office for Betty? I smell success written all over it. Hollywood take note, even a 88 year old woman can draw people into a movie so enough with the age thing. But just be careful Betty, people love you because of your down to earth nature and your brilliant comedic timing. I don't want to see you stumbling out of a club with Paris and Lindsay and ruining your new found fame. But next movie, make sure you ask for a bigger pay cheque. You deserve it girl. You Again opens in Australian cinemas 2 December.
