Elementary My Dear Watson. We Are Going To Have A Sequel
It looks like when a movie has made a killing at the box office like Sherlock Holmes did in 2009, that the studios realise they have reinvented a franchise and are going to milk as much as they can out of it, (or if they ruin it they can always make a prequel). Well I'm correct with the buzz being that the studio has greenlit the sequel which is going to hit cinemas December 2011. All the cast will be back including Robert Downy Jr and Jude Law. Rachel McAdams has not been confirmed back, but the bad guy has been rumoured to be played by double Oscar winner himself Daniel Day Lewis. Directing once again will be Guy Ritchie who helmed the first one. No details on the story have been revealed but I'm sure in the coming months this will change. Okay, I have to admit I didn't care much for the first one. I loved the actors, I loved the premise, but something just didn't click with me. I found it a little boring in parts and sections just seemed to drag on a bit, plus I felt they didn't use Rachel McAdams to her best. She is a talented actress and the part would have been suited to someone less known as it was not a leading lady part. I know that a lot of people did enjoy it, but hey this is my blog and this is my opinion which I am entitled to. If you have been a follower, you will know that I love Robert Downey Jr but even him being on screen for two hours just didn't do it for me. I thought he and Jude were great as a team, but the movie just didn't work in my opinion. If they do the sequel right, and make the trailer interesting I know I will check it out, but if not, it is going to be case closed for Sherlock and me.
