Megamind or MegaDull?
Guess what? Another new animated movie is coming out. I know, I know, another one. We have been bombarded this year with new ones, some fantastic brilliant can't say one bad word about (Toy Story 3 I'm talking about you). While others didn't really light the box office on fire, (poor Shrek). Once again, come towards the end of the year (and to cash in on school holiday money) Dreamworks will once again be giving us their new animated tale, "Megamind." Okay here is the premise. Megamind (voiced by Will Ferral) has been fighting his nemesis the oh so handsome and totally into himself Metro Man (voiced by Brad Pitt, I guess Beckham wasn't asked), for decades until one day he actually captures him. What will he do now as his objective in life is complete? Throw into the mix a love story involving a reporter Roxanne (Tina Fey love you) and there you have the basic rundown of Dreamworks animated adventure. So here is my problem with this. I have seen the previews for this movie and it really didn't grab me. I for one feel like I saw this last year when I watched Dreamworks last original animated movie Monsters Vs Aliens. The premise looks pretty much the same. And I don't know about you, but Will Ferral is really starting to annoy me. I don't find him funny anymore, and quite frankly lately his voice is irritating me. I know that they are going to play on the fact that Brad (Mr I think I'm so sexy) is playing Metro Man (maybe Metro Man really stand for Metrosexual Man, I don't know I'm just making it up). The only thing for me that could pull me to see this movie is the voice of Tina Fey. I don't care if she is acting or voicing a character I love Tina (a.k.a Liz Lemon). But I don't know if that will be enough to get my butt on a cinema seat. Stay tuned, I may or may not be seeing this movie when it is out later in the year. Maybe Dreamworks will have better luck next year getting my attention with the sequel Kung Fu Panda (now that was a cool animated movie).
