Could It Be Third Time's The Charm For Hilary?
How far would you go to help a family member who was accused of murder? Would you take it upon yourself due to lack of frustration from the legal system and become their lawyer? Well that is the new premise of two time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby, Boys Don't Cry) in her new movie "Conviction." Hilary stars as Betty Ann Waters who being a single mother puts her self through law school to help her brother (Sam Rockwell) and prove his innocence after being sentenced to jail for murder. These are the sort of movies that the Academy eats up and come next year may see another award to add to Ms Swank's shelf as early buzz is giving her outstanding praise for her work. But it can only come as no surprise as this actress is talented. First in her gritty performance in Boys Don't Cry (trust me it takes thick skin to sit through that movie) but I feel her greatest role ever was when she stared in Clint Eastwoods amazing cinematic achievement of Million Dollar Baby. I have not found one person who hasn't loved that movie. Hilary has the goods and she knows great roles to prove this. Although veering off track with a few of her efforts (I'm looking at you The Black Dahlia) Hilary has always shown her talent. I for one will be checking this movie out. Hilary could become the first women in history to ever achieve three academy awards. Here's hoping history is good to Ms Swank.
