Burlesque May Be The Surprise Hit Of The Holiday Season

I don't know if you have seen the trailer yet, but Cher is back and brinigng her larger than life persona to her new film "Burlesque." But what also has many paying attention is that Christina (Genie in a bottle) Aguilera is going to be staring opposite the legend herself. But will this be the strength of the movie, or will it be a curse just like her new album which plumetted into the depths of obscurity? Giving the strength of the trailor and the supporting players as well, lets just say it has some classic actors bringing their larger than life personalities to the film. Stanley (I am going to be everywhere these coming months) Tucci, Alan (I am that actor who you see and love even though you may not know my name) Cumming and Veronica Mars herself Kristen Bell. Throw in Cam (probably thanking his lucky stars he was killed in the first Twilight movie) Gigandet as Christina's love interest and you have all the elements for this to work. What I can gather off the trailor is that Christina's character is a girl who has moved to LA to make it big only to land a job in a burlesque club owned and operated by Tess (the always amazing Cher). Tess is underwhelmed by Ali at first only to one day here her open her mouth and out comes that amazing voice we have come to expect from Christina (looks like not much of a big stretch for her first movie, but why not start with something you know hey Aguilera). What will come of this we don't know as that it all I can gather from the trailor. The production numbers look big, the sequins are sparkling and Cher looks right on par as her usual sassy self. Just don't stuff this one up Christina, or you will be forever known as Floptina to me. Burlesque hits Australian cinemas 26 December
